History[]

Prior to working with Mike on The Cyanide & Happiness show, he ran a webcomic called "The World Is Flat Comics." Don't be mislead by the title, it's not about Flat Earthers, but rather quirky and colorful funny happenings in about four panels of his illustrations.

He met Mike Salcedo by working with him as a pre-production artist at Explosm Entertainment. But his strong sense of humor and comedic timing, elevated him to Writer and then Director of certain episodes of Cyanide & Happiness animated shorts. His first Writing and Directing credit on the show was "The Dump."

Additional information[]

  • He is an avid fan of chess, and is very skilled at playing it. He's attended tournaments, frequents Chess.com, and if you challenge him, prepare to lose.
  • Notable voice roles on The Cyanide & Happiness Show are The Redheaded EMT on every "MEDS," Narcbot from Season 4, Episode 10, and The Pizza Guy from "The Stockholm's",

Jon Robert Murphy[]

Jon Robert Murphy is the partner of Mike Salcedo, who has become involved in the production of Number Lore. He, along with Connor Murphy, Geoff Galneda, and Mike himself, worked on Cyanide & Happiness together.

History[]

Jon went to college for animation, and has worked on numerous projects before being hired as an animator by Explosm. While working at Cyanide & Happiness, he lead the team's transition from primarily animating in Flash (Adobe Animate) to Harmony Toon Boom. Since then, he's been spearheading experimental animation techniques that lead to interesting and complex effects. He also possesses strong video editing skills, exemplified in his documentary styled videos on YouTube on his General Scope Creep channel.

In 4, some of his earliest contributions to the channel were in the assembly of behind-the-scenes production side-by-side videos seen on Patreon.

In 5, there are special effects (to be specified later).

In other Number Lore contributions, he's assembled advertisements for toys and merch.

Additional information[]

  • The first Cyanide & Happiness short animated in Harmony Toon Boom was "The Crystal Ball", animated by Jon on June 15th, 2016.
  • Notable voice roles performed by Jon is the "Hand Me A Beer" guy in "Hand Me A Beer", and Jon in "Stop Motion Man"
