F is the sixth letter of the alphabet, the main antagonist of Alphabet Lore, and the secondary antagonist of Number Lore. He is also the mascot of the series. He was used to make the words "friends", "fart", and "frick". In the epilogue, he still retains some of his vengeful traits from his original future; however, they are less defined. F is the current holder of the semicolon ";" gem as of Episode 4, and previously wielded the question mark (?) gem. Later on in an advertisement, he now owns the Makeship Gem.

Appearance[]

F is a black letter F. His eyes are located at the top back of his body and his jaw is the two extended lines, which contain spiky teeth from when J hit him in the mouth as a kid. He is also known to be made of some sort of inky substance.

Personality[]

As a child, F was a nice, cute, happy content letter who got along with many of the other letters. His appearance as a child represented a lowercase F, with straight teeth and a smile, when he frowns, he looks like a normal lowercase F.

As an adult, F became ruthless and wanted revenge for what the other letters did to him in the past. His appearance became a capital letter, and his teeth were broken towards shards. His smile disappeared and was sneaky with deception similar to a snake.

In the new timeline, F appears to be less vengeful and hostile because N stood up for him, but still resents L and O for ruining their childhood. He still has a similar appearance but has broken teeth and minor bruises.

Biography[]

Alphabet Lore (Season 1)[]

As a child, F was happy and content with the other letters, with N being his best friend. One day, f was having fun with his other friends r, i, e, n, d, and s until L and O came and pulled a prank on n by shooting o into his face, knocking him down on the ground. Angered by this, f took revenge for n by using the letters A, R, and T to create the word "fart", which embarrassed l by making it look like he farted. F and N, along with all the other letters, laughed at l and made fun of him. Plotting revenge, l and o put f together with r, i, c and k to make the word "frick". Disgusted, all the letters bludgeoned f in numerous ways, making him cry gems. L and O decided to pull their last prank and have n betray F and force N to join their side with everyone against him. F ran away to his cave and watched upon the lives of every other letter until he was an adult.

Sometime before his attack, F became an adult.

First appearing in the episode "D", he began to take revenge and attack the other letters, leading to a mission to stop F from torturing the letters. F managed to kill the letters C, H, J, and X (also responsible for P's death as she was used as a decoy of him). He also managed to kidnap D, E, I, R, and S, and along with him and N, they made the word “FRIENDS”. At his final battle with N, he got killed by getting blasted through the chest by a laser made by N, making a hole in his chest and cave, killing him, rendering him to be dead. In Now I Know My ABCs, the remaining letters sadden as they realize that F wasn't evil. He also appears to have lost his pupils.

In the epilogue, after Z reverses time, L and O's plan to force N to their side failed, surprised that N instead chose to defend F this time. F and N both get beaten up by L and O once more, but do not care as they are happy to see each other. They run to their cave together and as they reach the mouth of the cave, they embrace each other and smile at the camera. It is very likely that F no longer has thirst for revenge because he remained best friends with N. So, it is very likely he will remain alive in the future.

Number Lore (Season 2-3)[]

F's first appearance is a brief cameo at the beginning of One, where he's hugging N at the top of his cave. In Three, he is dancing with N. When N sees L and O being attacked, F simply chortles when he remembers what they've done to him. When refuses to help N stop the letters, he and N have a tussle, causing the ampersand to break, and N to fall off of the cave, and into V and A to for VAN. N sadly drives away, and F is left sad and alone. Near the end of the episode, L tosses the Calculator Ship at the cave after the numbers' defeat. Upon noticing the ship flying towards him, F looks in brief terror until the ship crashes into him and the cave, but manages to use his gem’s powers to cast a protective barrier around himself last minute.

Shortly after F breaks out of his barrier, L flies into F’s cave and offers an insincere apology to F. When L gets distracted by a reflection of himself in one of the calculator gem’s storage hubs, F takes advantage of the situation to get back at L and push him inside the storage hub, effectively trapping him. L tries to retaliate by firing a chronic laser from his period gem to contain F, but this backfires: the laser bounces off of the inside of his storage hub and freezes L instead, much to F’s delight. Shortly afterwards, F’s question mark gem hovers into the crack of an adjacent damaged storage hub, which seeps with sludge that appears similar to the one F oozed out in previous episodes. F looks inside the cracks, only to be interrupted by N, who caught up to him. F, however, shrugs off N and calls off their friendship and walks into the hub.

Upon passing through the cracked storage hub, F enters the ship and follows his levitating gem through a series of corridors until reaching the ship's control room, all while N tries to unsuccessfully get his attention. The question mark gem then enters into the launch button and repairs and repowers the ship, which is recolored completely black with a white halo, and levitates. N proceeds to restrain the ship with his gem, but then the ship flies to planet 0 with him, alongside L and 𝗀, leaving him with the semicolon gem, feeling guilty.

F's Plan[]

As seen throughout the series, he was trying to form the word "FRIENDS". He did that pretty easily with the only letters that actually were stopping him being P, L, G, M, C and N in the end. In the episode "Y" he managed to capture almost all the letters and was missing only one - N when he was arriving to him he removed all the threats (A, G, U and M) but he abandoned all the gems except the * gem and N collected them he didn't attack N thinking it would realize what he is trying to do, but N used the power of his gems killing him.

Rewritten Past[]

When N realized what he had done wrong, Z used his ellipses gem to reverse time and Q gave his gem to N to ensure he remembers what happened in the present time. This time, N stands up for F, in where the letter smiles gratefully for not turning against him like the rest of the letters. They both glare excitedly at each other as they get kicked by L and O (L and O were actually joining them back). F cries the semi-colon ";" gem, which merges with N's "?" gem, forming the ampersand "&" gem. They both run to the cave together, and as they reach the mouth of the cave, they embrace each other and smile at the camera.

Trivia[]

  • F is the only letter that is the color black.
  • F and Z are the only characters to appear out of order of the alphabet, as he appears in “D”, where he came in before E and started attacking D.
  • F is the second fastest letter only being beaten by P when she is using the "!" gem (however, as the gem is a powerup, this may not count.)
  • F is the only letter to have goo-like abilities.
  • F is the second letter to appear in most episodes, He appeared in "D", "E", "F", "G", "H", "I", "J", "K", "L", 'M", "N", "O", "Q", "R", "S", "T", "U", "V", "X", "Y", "nZ...", "Now I Know My ABCs...", "One" and "Three". However, it is confirmed that Z has appeared in every episode. (Since he is the planet.)
    • One may also count "W", though he didn't physically appear here.
  • H was the only one he unintentionally killed. When they were an adult, they were killed by F on purpose.
  • He is the only letter that has spiky teeth, as J shot his cannonball at F's teeth.
  • He is the third pre-Number Lore antagonist, with the other two being O and L.
  • In 3 and 4, he has a Lego Batman-esc voice.
  • He has a jittery animation style, using line boiling, and looks more crudely drawn at random times.
  • When planning the plot for "nZ", Mike Salcedo at first was going to have L make F to spell the offensive F word, but then switched it to "FRICK" to make it less obvious.[1]
  • As we see a sneak peak of 4 on Mike's Patreon with F in it, it is confirmed that he is still alive.
  • In 4, it was shown that the letters still cared about F, As j,e,r, and k spelled JERK when L purposely threw the calculator into F's cave while swinging it around.
  • F could be a reference to "Press F to Pay Respects" meme from the 2014 game Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
  • If F uses the * gem, then two Fs form "FF", they are technically one of the ligatures. However, only the lowercase "ff" can have the ligature version but not the uppercase "FF".
