This article will list the proper formatting for the Character pages. Articles that fail to adhere to these standards will be deleted or have deletion notices placed on them for 24 hours while awaiting deletion.
Before creating a page, make sure to find proof and evidence that the page subject is canon to Alphabet Lore. If your subject matter happens to not be Alphabet Lore-related, it can be made on the fanon branch of our wiki. Once you find a character or location, load up the appropriate infobox and navigation bar and start following the instructions below.
Character Pages
When creating a page for a specific character in the canon Alphabet Lore franchise, load up the appropriate Character infobox (in source mode, and you'll see why later in the guide).
Infobox
When creating an article it is mandatory to create some sort of infobox to attract readers by using images and intuitive table design. It is vital that you make infoboxes in source mode, or else the infobox shown below will not work. Visual editor is discouraged to be used in general, as it scrambles infoboxes and code.
Here is an example infobox pulled from one of our existing articles, A.

Here is a step-by-step explanation what to put in each parameter of the infobox. However, because there are now two seperate character templates, the Character template is used for the human characters and the CharacterV2 template is used for the symbol characters (Letters and Numbers).
image1
Here, you can put an image of your character that will appear under the name in the infobox. After you upload the image, remove the code so it looks something like this: A.png. Make sure to use the correct file extension and ending, and make sure your image canonically appears in an Alphabet Lore episode or teaser made by Mike Salcedo. If your character has multiple forms or appearances that differ from the original form, you can simply create a gallery in the infobox by using the code. Here is an example.
<gallery> Filename.ext|Form 1 Filename2.ext|Form 2 Filename3.ext|Form 3 </gallery>
If necessary, you are allowed to add a caption to the infobox to better explain the subject matter of the images to readers.
relationships
This is the parameter where you can list the characters relationships, or people they are affiliated or acquainted with, such as friends, relatives, or enemies. Make sure to put canon relationships and connections between characters here, and, if necessary, canon ships. Make sure to leave any fanon content out of the page but especially this parameter, is rampant misinformation can ruin credibility. Make sure to use the <br> code in between relationships to create a top-to-bottom style list.
type
Here, you can tell the reader what type the character is. As of February 1, 2023, we only have two canon types, latin letters and arabic numbers.
status
This is the parameter in which you can display the character's status. Deceased and Alive are the only valid statuses that can be used there.
latest appearance
This is where you can list the character's latest episode appearance.
known powers
This is where you can list the character's abilities what are known.
genders
Here, you can list the character's gender.
pronouns
You can also list the character's pronouns here.
color
And finally, you can list the character's colors. Put , and put your HEX code in between | and }. To find the closest name, you first need to pick the color, then copy and paste your HEX code into this website, and then copy and paste the closest name after . Now finally, put the detail in between parentheses after the closest name. Here is an example.
*#000000 Black (example1) *#ffffff White (example2) *#00aa03 Islamic Green (example3)
debut
Here, you can list the character's debut episode, which is the first episode the character appears or debuts in.
First paragraph
Now that you have masterfully created your infobox, it is now time to write the actual article. Most introductory sections start like this:
Formatting
[character] is the [number amongst species] of the [writing system or species the character is based on]. It was used to make the [what multiple of their species create when coming together] [letters or numbers that include your character].
Example
Main Article: A
A is the first letter of the alphabet. He was used to make the words "CAB", "VAN", "COWARD", "MAP" and "fart".
Biography
In this section, you can add a short biography on the characters life, and their eventual death if it has occured in the series. Make sure to keep this section neutral and devoid of opinion or bias. Also make sure to keep your article relevant by using eloquent word choices and decisive storytelling. If you are having some sort of writers block, maybe check out some of bigger articles for inspiration, such as A or F.
Example
Main Article: F
As a child, F was happy and content with the other letters, with N being his best friend. One day, F was having fun with R, I, E, N, D, and S, until L and O came and pulled a prank on N by shooting O into his face, knocking him down on the ground, angered F took revenge for N by using the letters A, R, and T to create the word "FART", which embarrassed L by making it look like he farted. F and N, along with all the other letters, laughed at L and made fun of him. Plotting revenge, L and O put F together with R, I, C and K to make the word "FRICK". Disgusted, all the letters bludgeoned F in numerous ways, making him cry Gems.
After that, the rest of the article's formatting is up to you!
Just make sure to add an additional information section at the end of the page, which should have trivia section in it.
Gallery
These are self-explanatory. Just like the gallery you put in the infobox earlier, you can format it like this, but outside the infobox.
==Gallery== ===Example=== <gallery> Filename.ext|Image 1 Filename2.ext|Image 2 Filename3.ext|Image 3 </gallery>
Episode Appearances
This is the simplest of all, as it is simply a bare-bones list of the times your character appeared in the series. Here, you can specify debut episodes, cameo episodes, and other miscellaneous tidbits about the characters' cameos in other episodes. Episode count is where you list the amount of episodes your character appears in. The minimum of episodes needed to warrant a page is one. You should try to alphabetize the episode order whenever possible. You also need to put episodecount under the episode count.
Example
Main Article: A#Coverage
- A (debut)
- G
- H (cameo; part of CAB only)
- J
- K (part of CAB only)
- L (part of CAB only)
- M (cameo; part of CAB only)
And the list goes on...
Episode count: 22
He appeared in 57% of all episodes, including the cameo and part of CAB appearances.
Make sure to put it in the coverage section.
Episode Absence
This is the opposite of Episode Appearances, where you list the amount of episodes your character, who appears in at least 26 episodes, doesn't appear in.
Example
Main Article: F#Coverage
F appears in every episode, including non-original and shadow appearances, except these 7:
Episode count: 26
He appeared in 68% of all episodes, including non-original and shadow appearances.
Just like the episode appearances section, make sure to put it in the coverage section.
Audio
Here, you can list the audios of your character's voices. You can copy and paste this source and replace and with the audios of your character's voice. If there are no audios yet, replace or with "NO AUDIOS YET." in the preformatted text. If your character is a Number, remove ===Uppercase=== and ===Lowercase===, replace "Uppercase" or "Lowercase" with your character's quote in italic text, and remove a single one of the tables.
== Audio == ===Uppercase=== {| class="mw-collapsible mw-collapsed fandom-table" !Audio !Description |- | |Uppercase |} ===Lowercase=== {| class="mw-collapsible mw-collapsed fandom-table" !Audio !Description |- | |Lowercase |}
